How CorelDraw Has Evolved In Last 5 Years?

Have you ever imagined documents without text and graphics together in the same file? How dull would they look? Or, if you could imaginatively draw shapes or cautiously create diagrams, but never with the same program. Such was the life on the PC before CorelDraw. It was in 1989 that CorelDraw took the computer graphics world by storm, introducing a full color vector illustration along with the layout program – the first of its kind. After two years, Corel revolutionised the industry again, introducing the first all in one graphics suite with version 3, which combined vector illustration, page layout, photo editing and much more in a single package.

What’s CorelDraw?

CorelDraw is a vector graphics editor developed as and marketed by Corel Corporation. It’s also the name of Corel’s Graphics Suite, which bundles CorelDraw with bitmap image editor Corel Photo Paint along with other graphics related programs. The latest version is designated X8 and was released in March 2016. This specific software is designed primarily to edit two dimensional images such as logos and posters.

CorelDraw was originally developed for Microsoft Windows 3 and currently runs on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10.  Initially released in 1989, CorelDraw 1.x and 2.x ran under Windows 2.x and 3.0. CorelDraw 3.0 came into its own with Microsoft’s release of Windows 3.1. The inclusion of True Type in Windows 3.1 transformed CorelDraw into a serious illustration program capable of using system installed outline fonts without requiring third party software such as Adobe Type Manager, paired with a photo-editing program, a font manager and many other pieces of software,  it was also part of the first all in one graphics suite.
