Two months to go and 2020 will be a memory. Most of us typically want to prepare for where we want to see ourselves professionally. This may be the reason why the question, ‘Where do you see yourself in the next five years?’ is a favourite of recruiters.
It’s not a bad practice to set five-year goals and work towards them. As 2021 is only a few months away, the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry is also gearing towards adapting to a new market situation created by the pandemic. Therefore, while the AEC industry is finding a way around new challenges, AEC professionals too have modified their career goals by learning Revit online.
Revit, as we all know, is a Building Information Modelling (BIM) compliant software. This makes it a go-to software for most AEC professionals, as BIM is the future of construction. Therefore, learning Revit today is vital for those who wish to make advances in their career in the AEC industry.
Autodesk Revit is taught by several Autodesk Authorised Training Centres (ATCs). As a manager of training at Grey Edge, an ATC, I see students gear up enthusiastically to learn Revit. The important thing to remember while learning Revit is who the trainer is and which learning method to use.
At Grey Edge, we offer Autodesk Revit online certification courses that enable students and professionals to take a step ahead in their career goals. To do so, we offer several online courses in Revit Architecture, Revit MEP and Revit Structure in two formats. They are:
- Instructor-led, ‘live’ online training courses
- Video-led online training courses
Through our instructor-led, live Autodesk Revit online courses, participants can learn Revit live with the presence of a trainer. The training is conducted Monday to Friday, 2 hours per day. On completion of the course, participants receive a soft copy of the certificate. We provide instructor-led online training in:
- Revit Architecture
- Revit MEP
- Revit Structure
In our video-led online training courses, participants can undergo online Revit certifications in several courses. They are:
Revit Architecture (Comprehensive) – This course teaches Revit Architecture from the ground up. By the end of this course, architects and construction professionals can design complex building models within a short period. On completion of this course, participants can apply for designations such as Revit technicians (Architecture) or Revit BIM modellers.
Revit Architecture (Essentials) – Professionals who wish to learn certain key topics in Revit for better project output will find this course beneficial. This course teaches participants how to create vital construction documents. On completion of this course, professionals can apply for CAD/BIM jobs with Revit modeller designations.
Revit Architecture (Advanced) – To stay abreast with the latest tools in Revit Architecture, this online course is designed for professionals to learn about and upgrade their knowledge of the key features of Revit Architecture and be able to deal with architectural design scenarios from various points of view. On completion of this course, professionals can apply for CAD/BIM jobs with senior Revit modeller designations, who handle project troubleshooting and management review.
Revit MEP (Comprehensive) – Students and professionals who want to learn Revit MEP in detail must enrol for this online course. It enables design engineers and modellers across mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) disciplines to create a detailed building services model. On completion of this course, participants can apply for MEP jobs with designations such as Revit modellers or MEP coordinators.
Revit MEP (Essentials) – In this course, participants will learn how to create parametric models of MEP systems. Further, gain knowledge about vital Revit MEP concepts such as ‘working with datum elements’, ‘linking and importing CAD’, ‘HVAC’, ‘hydronic piping systems’, ‘plumbing’, ‘firefighting’, ‘electrical systems’ and much more that helps Revit modellers. On completion of the course, participants may apply for MEP jobs with Revit modeller designations.
Revit MEP (Advanced) – In this online course, participants will learn about and upgrade their skills on the key features of Revit MEP and be able to deal with engineering design scenarios from various points of view. On completion of the course, participants can apply for MEP jobs with senior Revit modeller designations, who handle project troubleshooting and management review.
Thus, students and professionals can upgrade their skills and approach 2021 with new career goals. These courses help professionals think out of the box and deliver better project outputs. The knowledge gained from such courses provides students and professionals with the ability to find out new ways to tackle challenging project outcomes and deliver solutions by applying Revit tools to suit customer requirements.
